It has all boiled down to the final matchday of the 2024-25 campaign to determine the Serie A champions. Napoli and Inter Milan are keen on producing positive Serie A 2025 results this weekend to bring home the Scudetto.
Napoli have a one-point advantage over Inter Milan in the Italian top-flight standings. If Antonio Conte’s men win their upcoming match against Cagliari, it’s game over for Inter Milan. However, if Napoli lose or draw, Inter Milan can snatch the Scudetto via a road win over Como. If these two teams are somehow tied at 79 points after this weekend, Inter Milan will win the title due to a superior goal difference.
Meanwhile, the battle for the other European spots continues to heat up. Atalanta are safe in third with 74 points, while Juventus (67 points), AS Roma (66 points), and even Lazio (65 points) vie for the fourth Champions League berth.
Napoli vs Cagliari
Napoli are winless in their last two league matches, but they will fancy their chances against Cagliari, whom they’ve beaten 4-0 in their reverse fixture last September at the Sardegna Arena.
The Partneopei will likely miss the services of Stanislav Lobotka, Alessandro Buongiorno, and Juan Jesus this Sunday night. However, they have enough quality to see this through, with Romelu Lukaku, Scott McTominay, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, and Giacomo Raspadori supplying ammunition in the final third.
Lukaku leads the team in goal involvements with 13 league goals and 10 assists. McTominay has 11 league goals and four assists. Anguissa and Raspadori have six goals apiece this season. Joining them in the starting XI will likely be Alex Meret, Amir Rrahmani, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Leonardo Spinazzola, Mathias Olivera, Billy Gilmour, and Matteo Politano.
Cagliari recently snapped their two-game losing streak with a 3-0 win against Venezia last Sunday. Yerry Mina, Roberto Piccoli, and Alessandro Deiola were on the scoresheet in the shutout victory.
The team will rely heavily on Piccoli in the final third since Leonardo Pavoletti remains suspended and Zito Luvumbo is an injury doubt for Cagliari. The 24-year-old center-forward leads Cagliari with 10 league goals and one assist this term.

Como vs Inter Milan

Inter Milan plan to bounce back from their 2-2 draw against Lazio with another win against Como this Saturday. The Nerazzurri won 2-0 in the reverse fixture at San Siro last December, as Carlos Augusto and Marcus Thuram scored two goals in the second half.
Simone Inzaghi’s side has a rare chance to win a double this season because they’re also in the Champions League final against PSG. Inter Milan will go all-out in the next few days to cement their place in history.
According to local reports, Inzaghi will likely rotate his squad this weekend since Como are beatable. He could give Lautaro Martinez, Valentin Carboni, and Davide Frattesi the night off to keep them fresh ahead of the PSG match. Mehdi Taremi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan could start again for the Nerazzurri.
Como are undefeated in their last eight games and are fresh from a 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona. Cesc Fabregas’ men are 10th in the table with 49 points and will likely stay there at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
With top scorer Assane Diao (foot) still on the mend, Como will need Patrick Cutrone to take over in the final third. The 27-year-old striker came off the bench last time out and could be reinserted in the starting XI to join Gabriel Strefezza, Maxence Caqueret, and Nico Paz up front.

Torino vs AS Roma
Claudio Ranieri could complete his redemption arc by guiding AS Roma back to the Champions League, and securing a league double over Torino will do just that. When Ranieri took over as head coach last year, the Giallorossi were getting dragged towards the relegation battle, but he is back to save the day.
AS Roma have won four of their last five and are fresh from a 3-1 victory against 10-man AC Milan. Gianluca Mancini, Leandro Paredes, and Bryan Cristante dominated the middle of the park and scored the goals, while Joao Felix recorded the consolation goal for the Rossoneri.
Torino are coming off a narrow 1-0 loss against Lecce. Paolo Vanoli’s men, despite dominating possession, were outdone by Yiber Ramadani’s second-half goal.
Il Toro are undermanned against AS Roma, as Duvan Zapata, Perr Schuurs, Borna Sosa, Saul Coco, and Eljif Elmas are expected to sit this match out.
