NBA: The Pistons are Suddenly in the Driver’s Seat

Don’t look now, but the Pistons are the hottest team in the NBA. Following their latest win over the hapless Pacers last night, JB Bickerstaff’s men extended their unbeaten run to 10 games to improve to an East-leading 12-2 record.

Winning many games this early is rare for the Pistons, who haven’t had much success in the past few years, so they’re keen on letting the good times roll by trying to get another win on the road against the streaking Hawks tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Warriors, Celtics, Grizzlies, Jazz, and Suns will visit the Magic, Nets, Spurs, Lakers, and Blazers to round out tomorrow’s six-game slate. After that, we’re back to regular programming, with nine matches on Thursday.

Without further ado, continue reading below, as SBOTOP offers a preview of the Top 3 games from tomorrow’s schedule.

Golden State Warriors @ Orlando Magic

The Warriors have built some momentum in the NBA 2025 odds, following Stephen Curry’s return from an illness. With Curry back on the floor, Golden State have won three straight games.

The two-time league MVP totaled 95 points in their back-to-back victories against the Spurs, but only had nine points against the Pelicans. However, Moses Moody picked up the slack by scoring 32 points, four rebounds, three steals, and eight three-pointers on 10-for-16 shooting from the field in 32 minutes last Sunday in the 124-106 win. Brandin Podziemski, Jimmy Butler, and Buddy Hield followed suit with 19, 18, and 11 points, respectively.

Golden State will be without Jonathan Kuminga tomorrow against Orlando due to a nagging knee injury. This will be Kuminga’s third straight absence. With Kuminga, who was averaging 13.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists on 47.8-per cent shooting this campaign, on the sidelines, Moody, Hield, and Will Richard could see increased usage.

The Magic are fresh from a 117-113 OT loss against the Rockets last Sunday, which snapped their three-game winning streak. Franz Wagner led Orlando with 29 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals on 8-for-21 shooting from the field and 10-for-13 shooting from the charity stripe in the losing effort.

Orlando will remain without its franchise cornerstone, Paolo Banchero, due to a groin injury. According to the latest NBA 2025 updates, the former Rookie of the Year winner is highly questionable for Thursday’s match against the Clippers.

Detroit Pistons @ Atlanta Hawks

As mentioned, the Pistons are coming off a 127-112 home win over the Pacers, whose losing streak is now at eight games. The win is quite impressive for the hosts, considering they were without Cade Cunningham (hip) and Ausar Thompson (ankle).

Instead, Detroit were buoyed by the return of Jalen Duren, who missed the past two matches due to an ankle injury. The 22-year-old center powered the Pistons with 31 points, 15 rebounds, and three assists on 12-for-13 shooting from the field and 7-for-11 shooting from the free throw line. Daniss Jenkins, Javonte Green, Duncan Robinson, and Isaiah Stewart also stepped up by contributing 26, 20, 13, and 10 points, respectively.

On the other hand, the Hawks have won their last five games, despite the absence of star guard Trae Young (knee). During their latest win on Sunday, Atlanta rallied from 22 down to beat Phoenix 124-122 on the road.

Onyeka Okongwu led the team with 27 points, four rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks on 9-for-15 shooting from the field. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Jalen Johnson, Zaccharie Risacher, and Dyson Daniels added 26, 25, 15, and 11 points.

Utah Jazz @ Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are off to a positive start this 2025-26 campaign with a 10-4 record, and the team received a major injury boost ahead of tomorrow’s matchup against the Jazz. According to reports, LeBron James, who has yet to make his season debut due to sciatica, practiced with the team for the first time on Monday and is questionable for tomorrow’s match.

Los Angeles are fresh from a 119-95 rout of Milwaukee, as Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves combined for 66 points, while Deandre Ayton continued his improved play with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals on 9-for-13 shooting from the field.

The Jazz are coming off the league’s highest-scoring game so far this season, with a 150-147 victory over the Bulls on Sunday. Lauri Markkanen and Keyonte George (who hit the game-winning trey) combined for 80 points, while Brice Sensabaugh, Isaiah Collier, Kevin Love, and Svi Mykhailiuk added 16, 16, 10, and 10 points.

Betting tip – Los Angeles Lakers Asian Handicap -12.50 @ 2.04
